Dogo Argentino

Living in the Montana wilderness I wanted the ultimate big-game hunting dog. The natural wildlife where I live includes grizzly bear, lynx, mountain lion, wolf, black bear, moose and elk and I'm a hunter. I spend a goodly amount of time tracking and hunting game and I knew I wanted a dog that could meet the challenge.

Admiral is a great dog: he possesses the natural instinct to hunt, and he's a great guard dog while we're out in the wilderness. We have spent many a night by the fireside together and I'm able to get a good night's sleep because I know I have a dedicated watchdog.

We've been together for the past three hunting seasons and there are lots of stories I could tell about how he's scared off unwanted intruders. On one occasion, I took a new girlfriend with me to introduce her to the wilderness' beautiful scenery. Her very first night with us, an unwelcome grizzly made his way to our camp. If it hadn't been for Admiral, I'm convinced I wouldn't be here to tell this story. Needless to say, it had taken everything I had to convince my girlfriend that we would be safe as long as we had Admiral with us. But since that incident, she thinks he's a hero and she lets him know it, and boy, he just eats that up.

Admiral is the type of dog that won't tolerate another dominant male dog, so my other two dogs are females of a less-aggressive breed and they all get along well. As a single guy, dogs are a mainstay of my lifestyle. I'm active, I hunt big game, and I'm adventurous. That said, my lifestyle provides the physical and mental challenges that Admiral needs to stay happy. This isn't a couch dog. I'm looking forward to many hunting seasons with him.
