This is Dash, my two-year-old Kyi-Leo. You can usually identify a Kyi-Leo because they are nearly always black and white, but sometimes you will find them in gold and white. You probably already know that they are a mix of Maltese and Lhasa Apso. My Dash was in a litter of seven and he was the last-born, so that makes him the baby. And just like the baby in any family, he is extra lovable and good-natured and sweet. He was kissing before he was even four weeks old!
Mariah Carey owns two Kyi-Leos that were given to her when she was on tour in Japan and that made a lot of people think they were some kind of glamorous. But my Dash is just a down-home kinda dog. He's content living in my apartment and listening to me play my guitar as long as I don't get too loud with it. I guess this breed of dog is more sensitive to loud noises than most, so I respect that and keep it cool. My neighbors appreciate that he is a pretty quiet dog--not a yapper or a howler.
He loves to play Frisbee right here in the house with me and I can pretty much get him all the exercise he needs just by playing with him indoors. You can probably tell from the fur that a Kyi-Leo needs plenty of brushing, and I am pretty good about seeing that he gets brushed regularly. What more can I say ? This breed is just adorable, and they are such loving dogs. They do well in apartments and are fine during the day on their own, making them a good choice for single people like me.
