She may be a tease; maybe she just likes to turn heads. Whatever the case, Chantelle is all class. And showing is when she is at the top of her form. But truthfully, I think she is always performing for someone, even at home for friends and family. Like the old saying, for Chantelle the whole world is a stage, and she was born to be a star.

I'm not sure how she will do after this year, when I retire her from competition. It's a lot of work and stress to get her out there, and we've had a great run but for me, it's time to quit. Of course, I'm just as accustomed to winning those Ribbons as she is, but neither of us is as young as we used to be. I believe as long as I give her as much attention and primping as I can, she'll be okay.

Maybe it's me who'll have trouble adjusting to the life-style change. There's something about the competition, the other dogs and the whole atmosphere that got into my blood. To leave all of that behind might leave quite a void in my life.

I've been considering starting a school for young dog enthusiasts; it would be fun to work with kids, and Chantelle would love the attention. To start off our retirement, we're going to rest a bit first, and sort through our memories on a seaside vacation. It will be the perfect setting for both of us to figure out what to do next!
