Teacup Tiny Toy Poodle
Posted: April 10, 2010 @ 10:41 am GMT
Our daughter has stuffed toys bigger than PeeWee. In fact, there have been times we have lost him among her toys! He'll snuggle up with her stuffed animals and fall asleep; next thing you knew, we were running around frantically looking for this tiny, fragile little dog, fearing the worst. Of course, now that's one of the first places we look.
PeeWee loves his own toys and has this habit of gathering them all up and piling them in the middle of the living room floor. He'll then just lie beside them and mix them up, chewing or tossing them about. I pick them up and put them back in the dog toy box beside his bed; pretty soon the pile of toys has migrated back into the living room. He particularly likes them all there when he's watching TV with us.
He's quite a little character with a lot of personality for such a small dog. You always get the sense that he's a puppy, even though he is not. I guess that's because of his size and his playful antics. Of course, he can wear you down with his constant need for attention and with our constant low-level worry of him getting under foot and accidentally stepped on.
Speaking of getting stepped on, that has happened a couple of times. In fact, on one occasion we had to take PeeWee to the emergency vet as we were just sure we'd broke one of his fragile leg bones. He was whining and wincing and limping and of course our daughter was crying because she'd hurt him. It turned out that nothing was broken, but we have all learned to be a lot more cautious - even PeeWee. He's learned to stay clear of our feet, as well as to stand clear of swinging doors and the like.
